Ekos Founder & CEO Sean Weaver joins five other guest speakers at ‘TED Type’ Talks in Franz Josef, hosted by Glacier Country.
This year’s theme, Te Wāhipounamu — A Living World Heritage Sanctuary, looks at nature returning, people adapting, and investment that holds the line. Speakers take the audience from ki uta ki tai and mātauranga Māori, through the return of kea and the responsibilities this brings, to the carbon research and new investment approaches that could help sustain conservation gains.
Alongside Sean, the line-up includes Tracey Dearlove (Kea Conservation Ranger), Pauline Howard (Lead Veterinarian, South Island Wildlife Hospital), Rob Potts (Builder, RFP Construction), Kara Edwards (Pouārahi, Te Rūnanga o Makaawhio) and Tom Agnew (Development Director, Zero Invasive Predators). Sean will share his perspective on new investment approaches for conservation and the role emerging nature markets could play in sustaining gains made on the West Coast and beyond.
