Ekos CEO Sean Weaver will attend UNCCD COP17 in Ulaanbaatar as a delegate for the Mongolian Sustainable Finance Development Association, with speaking roles at two key sessions.
On 19 August, Sean will present at the High Level Sustainable Finance Forum, and on 21 August he’ll speak at the Nature-Positive Business Opportunities workshop. Across both, he’ll draw on 20 years as a practitioner in nature markets and his more recent pioneering work in biodiversity markets, sharing hands-on experience engaging demand-side actors in these emerging markets — including lessons from selling biodiversity credits in both the New Zealand domestic market and internationally.
It’s a chance for the global sustainable finance and nature markets community to hear directly from someone who has helped build these markets from the ground up in Aotearoa, and to connect that experience to the bigger conversation happening at COP17 around land, biodiversity, and climate finance.
