Wao Event

Last week’s brilliant Wao Summit in Wānaka and Queenstown showed just how much momentum is building for credible, nature-based climate solutions in Aotearoa!

Across the sessions, one theme kept coming through: people want clarity, integrity, and practical tools to make climate action real.

🌳 In Wānaka, we looked at the difference between biodiversity credits and carbon credits, and how transparency and verification are key to building trust in this new market.

🌳 In Queenstown, the conversation turned to carbon reporting: how businesses can measure emissions beyond the obvious sources, and why even small steps matter in creating systems that last.

These kōrero reminded us that doing this work isn’t simple. Tracking supplier data, setting reduction targets, and proving real outcomes all take time and collaboration. But every conversation adds another piece to the puzzle of building credible, scalable climate solutions.

💨 And when our Nelson Roadshow stop was cancelled by the wild weather, it was a timely reminder that climate disruption isn’t a future risk. It’s already shaping how we live and work.

Thanks to the stellar team at Wao for having us as part of their Summit - keep on doing what you’re doing; it’s creating real impact.
